The impact of perioperative high-protein oral nutrition supplements on postoperative outcomes in primary lung cancer: the protocol of Russian prospective, randomised, multicenter study

BACKGROUND: Nutritional support, including oral nutrition supplements, is an integral part of anticancer treatment, during surgical treatment non-small cell lung cancer. Existing evidence for the effectiveness nutritional support in this cohort patients limited. We suggest that perioperative administration a balanced polymeric hypercaloric high-protein enteral formula by sipping as additional can have positive effect on results treatment.
 AIMS: 1) to assess impact with supplements risk postoperative complications, recovery respiratory functions, status and quality life primary cancer; 2) identification possible side effects complications when using high-energy cancer.
 MATERIALS AND METHODS: Russian prospective, randomised, multicenter low-intervention study outcomes cancer parallel groups, 1:1 randomization. The will include 114 who are scheduled surgery. It expected provide period 14 days before surgery after it.
